Features

  • Product dries to an extremely tough and durable semi-gloss finish that will not chalk, peel, or rub off.
  • Can be applied over virtually any type of marginally prepared surface with excellent results – including asphalt, creosote, and CCA salt treated lumber.
  • Can be applied over previously painted or unpainted surfaces.
  • Lead free and safe around valuable livestock.
  • Not recommended for interior applications.
  • Self-priming on all surfaces.
  • Will not rub off on horses or humans.
  • 4 to 6 years of durability on plank fence, depending on fence condition and surface preparation. Initial coat on new wood will age quicker than recoats.

Shelf Life:

2 years in unopened cans. To maximize shelf life, store out of direct sunlight. Product will not be affected if stored below 32°F. Settling can occur, product must be shaken vigorously before use. For best results, flip pails upside down while shaking.

Application & Use

Coverage

3 & 4 board fence: 16 ft. / gal., both sides

1 board fence: 26 ft. / gal., both sides

Barns: 250 sq. ft. / gal.

Coverage depends on many factors such as porosity and roughness of the substrate and material losses during application. Using less material than recommended will see a decrease in durability. May require two coats for best results.

Dry Time

Set to touch: 4 hours

Re-coat: 8 hours

Fully dry: 24 hours

Drying times are affected by rain, dew, and temperature. Do not paint if rain is expected within 8 hours.

Recommended Film Thickness

Wet film – per coat: 6.0 to 10.0 mils

Dry film – per coat: 2.0 to 4.0 mils

Application

Product should be thoroughly mixed before use. Thinning is not recommended.

Method: Brush, roll, or spray

Allow new wood 1 to 3 months to weather to reduce moisture content. Do not paint the underside of fence planks.

Airless spray:

  • Rating: 0.5 gallons / minute minimum
  • Pressure: 1,800-2,500 psi
  • Filter: 30 to 60 mesh
  • Tip Size: 0.017″ to 0.021″

Roller application: use thick nap 7” roller.

Surface Preparation

For greatest durability make sure fence is scraped or pressure washed thoroughly by removing any peeling or flaking paint before applying.
