Recommended Uses
- Plank fences
- Barns exteriors and interiors
- Silos
- Farm buildings
- New and weathered wood
- Concrete, masonry, and brick
- Metal structures – will not prevent rust
- Properly primed steel
- Not suitable for flooring or high abrasion surfaces
Not designed to inhibit rust. If applied over a previously rusted surface or to inhibit future rust, a coat of oil-based primer (Shopcoat Primer 299) is recommended.
Features
- Brighter white than conventional oil-based products.
- Non-toxic – soap and water cleanup.
- Effective mildewcide is incorporated to restrict mildew growth once paint is dry.
- Flexibility resists chipping and peeling.
- Offers exceptional economy and durability in a user-friendly water-based formulation.
- Provides excellent weather protection.
- Safe around valuable horses and livestock.
- Can be applied directly to new (properly dried), weathered or previously painted lumber.
- Will not stop tannin stain. To ensure tannin stain is blocked an oil-based primer (Fence & Barn White) is commonly used as a primer coat.
- 3 to 6 years of durability on plank fence, depending on condition and surface preparation. Initial coat on new wood will age quicker than recoats.

Coverage
3 & 4 board fence: 16 ft. / gal., both sides
1 board fence: 26 ft. / gal., both sides
Barns: 250 sq. ft. / gal.
Coverage depends on many factors such as porosity and roughness of the substrate and material losses during application. Using less than recommended material will lead to decreased durability. May require two coats for best results – especially on new wood.
On new wood always check for tannin stain by applying to a test area. If it occurs use an oil-based primer such as Fence & Barn White. Allow 24 hours before top-coating with this product.
Dry Time
Set to touch: 1 hour
Re-coat: 4 hours
Fully dry: 24 hours
Drying times are affected by rain, dew, and temperature. Do not paint if rain is expected within 8 hours.
Recommended Film Thickness
Wet film – per coat: 6.0 to 10.0 mils
Dry film – per coat: 2.0 to 4.0 mils
Application
Product should be thoroughly mixed before use. No thinning needed – if necessary, thin with 4 fl. oz. water per gal. paint.
Application temperature: above 50°F
Method: Brush, roll, or spray
Allow new wood 1 to 3 months to weather to reduce moisture content. Do not paint the underside of fence planks. Moisture content of wood should be no more than 15%.

- Pressure: 1,800-2,500 psi
- Filter: 30 to 60 mesh
- Tip Size: 0.017″ to 0.025″
Roller application: use thick nap 7” roller.
Surface Preparation
For greatest durability make sure surface is scraped or pressure washed thoroughly to remove any peeling or flaking paint before applying. In areas where mildew is a problem, always scrub the surface with a commercial mildew remover or bleach solution.
